Parents Talk: Spring Means Allergies and Asthma Inflation

The benefits of spring are great, but what about when the children get to sneezing and itching?

Ah spring. I've been waiting on it since the last 75 degree day the City of Hazelwood had back in November.

Winter is great and all, but I love the long days of sunlight, mild temperatures and bright colors in nature that seem to only appear during this time of year.

One thing I don't like since becoming a mother and moving back to the place I grew up from Florida, is the asthma and allergies my son seemed to develop the minute the family saw the "Welcome to Missouri" sign.

This can be quite a task to keep under control for the little one we call "nature boy" around the house. He naturally loves, water, outdoors, dirt and grass but boy-oh-boy do they act as a weapon of mass destruction against his body.

So parents, give some advice on how you control your children's allergies while allowing them to be kids.

About this column: Parents talk, so why not let them do so on Hazelwood Patch. Something may have happened last nigh with your child that you have never experience. Whether you're at work or at home, this is a way for Hazelwood parents to talk about a hot topic or question of the day. You can also submit your own question which our Moms Council will answer.
