Mattress Firm Donates $117,000 in Mattresses to the James S. McDonnell USO

The USO, located at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, was gifted 56 news beds for the center that has hosted more than 490,000 guests since it last replaced its bedding.

 

Mattress Firm employees are going out of their way this during the month of gratitude to give thanks to military families.

The company will greeted military members at the James S. McDonnell USO at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport near Hazelwood Friday with a gift of 56 mattresses.

The Tempur-Pedic Twin XL mattresses, the company said. In addition to mattresses, Mattress Firm also donated mattress protectors and pillows. Overall, the value of the donation was more than $117,000.

The James S. McDonnell USO offers free services to military personnel and their dependents, including a sleeping area that was in need of new beds, according to Christine Trotter, development director for USO of Missouri.

“It has been four years since our mattresses have been replaced,” she said in a statement. “This donation will ensure our guests have comfortable, high quality mattresses on which to rest for several years.”

Trotter said in the time since the organization last replaced its bedding, about 490,000 have utilize the sleep facility.

During November, Houston-based Mattress Firm will donate more than $1.5 million in Tempur-Pedic mattresses nationwide.

 “One of our managers is a Veteran," said Nik Brym, district manager of Mattress Firm in St. Louis. "He served our country and this is a great opportunity to display our gratitude to the men and women that continue to serve our country.”
