Hazelwood Teen Kicks In Door While Owner is Home

The suspect was going after money he believed was inside the home, but fled when he saw the homeowner, Hazelwood Police said.

A man kicked in a door in the 100 block of Cady Drive in Hazelwood Oct. 9 while the resident was home, according to a police report.

Hazelwood Police said that Anthony Buddeke, 17, of the 100 block of Reasor Avenue in Hazelwood, broke into the home at about 12:09 Oct. 9. The resident confronted him and he fled.

Buddeke told police that he was after money he believed the victim had in the house.

He was charged Wednesday with first-degree burglary. Buddeke is being held in St. Louis County jail in lieu of a $30,000 bond.
