January Means Girl Scout Cookies

Hazelwood Girl Scouts will be out selling cookies on Saturday.

If you see little girls with green outfits out and about Saturday in the , it's because the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri will kick off their annual cookie drive this weekend. On Cookie Go! Day, as the kickoff is called, girls will begin taking orders and raising money to benefit Girl Scouts.

The cookies will come in the same seven flavors as last year : Thanks-A-Lot, Lemonades, Shout Out!, Peanut Butter Sandwich, Peanut Butter Patties, Thin Mints and Caramel deLites. Although some signatures boxes don't have the same names as in the past, the cookies have the same taste.

Girl Scouts from troops across eastern Missouri, from St. Louis to north in Putnam Country to south in Ste. Genevieve, will begin selling cookies on Saturday, Jan. 21 at $3.50 per package.

All proceeds from cookie sales stay within the community to benefit local girls. Troops use the money for everything from field trips to community service projects; with these funds, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri can also deliver programs for girls, provide training for adult volunteers, and maintain our three local Girl Scout camps.
