A man is in police custody after crashing his SUV into a Hazelwood home at about 1 a.m. Thursday.

Hazelwood police officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash where a vehicle struck the residence in the 3900 block of Dunn Road.

Upon arrival, the officers found a Chevrolet Jimmy lodged into the front of a house.

No one inside the home was hurt. According to the report the man driving the SUV ran away from the scene on foot abandoning the vehicle. 

Police located the man several blocks away and arrested him for leaving the scene of an accident and suspected driving while intoxicated.
