Hazelwood Police Officer Injured When Motorist Hits Stopped Patrol Car

The officer was assisting with an earlier accident when his patrol car was struck by another vehicle on Highway 270.

 

A Hazelwood police officer was injured and taken to a hospital Tuesday evening when his stopped patrol car was hit by another vehicle on Interstate 270, despite the fact that his emergency lights were flashing, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

The officer, Anthony Kristo, was assisting with an earlier accident and waiting for a tow truck when his patrol car was struck and pushed into another Hazelwood police car.

The incident is still under investigation. Police haven’t released the other driver’s name.
