HPD's team will join hundreds jumping into snowy and icy water at Creve Coeur Lake for the 2013 Polar Plunge benefiting the Special Olympics of Missouri,

The Hazelwood Police Department will be amongst roughly 800 people diving into Creve Coeur Lake for the annual Polar Plunge on Saturday.

Thursday's snow will make the event feel more like the polar element of which it's named, and that more meaningful for the Special Olympics of Missouri, which will benefit from the event.

The 2013 Polar Plunge is the seventh year of the event and HPD has a team of 14 people that will be jumping in.
