Hazelwood Municipal Judge To Seek Similar Florissant Position

Judge Kevin Kelly seeks to keep the seat his late brother held in the family.

On Friday, Hazelwood municipal judge Kevin Kelly announced he will seek the position of Florissant municipal judge.

His brother Tim was the Florissant municipal judge until his untimely death in June, due to complications from diabetes.

At that time Florissant City Council called for a special election of the position, to be held Nov. 8.

Kevin Kelly currently serves as the municipal judge for Cool Valley and Maryland Heights, as well. He also serves as the prosecuting attorney for Dellwood.

“It would be a great honor to serve the city of Florissant as its municipal judge,” he said to Patch. “I believe my experience in municipal courts for the past 30 years as well as my familiarity with the court system, the community and its residents makes me uniquely qualified for this position.”

Kevin Kelly was re-appointed the Hazelwood municipal judge in April.
