Hazelwood Finance Department Gets 14th Annual Excellence Award
The department's 2010-2011 report distinguishes the city for its 'spirit of full disclosure.'
The City of Hazelwood has been awarded its fourteenth consecutive Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GOFA) for its 2010-2011 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).
“This impressive track record of success distinguishes Hazelwood from the rest of the crowd for its ‘spirit of full disclosure’ and transparency in clearly communicating the City’s financial story and presenting it in a manner that compels user groups to read it,” said Hazelwood’s Communications Coordinator Tim Davidson in an email.
“Most of the credit for this impressive track record of accomplishments goes to my predecessor, Donnie Burns, and the finance staff,” said Lori Helle, City of Hazelwood’s director of finance. “I feel fortunate to be able to carry on this tradition of excellence with a top notch finance staff that does most of the number crunching and budget transactions with amazing accuracy.”
