Dining Debate: Where's the Best Place for a Sub Sandwich?

Whether you like a cold-cut specialty, an Italian trio, a meatball sub or a veggie delight, let "Patch" know the best place to go to enjoy a sub sandwich.

Welcome to "Dining Debate," a column aimed at sharing the best foodie finds in our area: Florissant, Hazelwood and Maryland Heights.

This weekly feature invites you to nominate and vote on your favorite places for a variety of eats and treats.

How does it work?

Every Monday, we will ask you to tell us your favorite place for a certain edible item.

This week we're looking for good submarine sandwich shops. We want to know: Where's the best restaurant to grab a sub sandwich?

You can let us know your favorite spot by commenting below. You will be able to submit your vote through 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Then what?

We will post your nominations in an article Wednesday morning. Then it will be time to vote again—this time for the "Dining Debate" champion.

Voting will continue through 5 p.m. Thursday, and we will announce the winner first thing Friday morning.

If you are really pulling for a certain restaurant, share this column on Facebook and Twitter and ask your followers to vote.

This column is all about hearing from you!

So, without further ado, lets get the voting started. Patch readers, tell us by commenting below, where is the BEST restaurant in Hazelwood, Florissant, or Maryland Heights to grab some a fresh sub sandwich?

I love Penn Station but would really like to find the calorie counts for them.

Scotti's Deli & Catering definitely has the best sub sandwich! All of their sandwiches have better-quality ingredients, and, more meat and toppings than any of the those already mentioned. Best of all, it's a local, family owned and operated business and has been in the Maryland Heights area for 13 years! They have my vote!

Barn Deli is really good! Tried the Muffaletta after a Patch review! (We are pretty excited about Jimmy John's in Hazelwood opening soon also!).
