Cardinals Pitcher Kyle McClellan: See You in 2013

The Hazelwood West alum had surgery on Tuesday and will be on the disabled list for the rest of the baseball season.

After an injury led graduate Kyle McClellan to hit the bench in a game in May, everyone wondered whether the Cardinals pitcher and would get back on the mound by August, as he’d hoped.

McClellan, a Hazelwood West graduate and former Florissant resident, had been on the disabled list with a strained right elbow.

Then, during a July 3 throwing session, he aggravated a previous injury, CBS reported.

But 28-year-old McClellan had surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn labrum, and it looks like he’ll be out for the remainder of the season.  CBS’s Fantasy Analysis said McClellan never felt right during spring training, and that he will start working toward his 2013 campaign instead.

Do you think McClellan will recover in time for the 2013 season? Tell us what you think in the comments section.

Hopefully he can take the time to heal and come back better next year. Good luck Kyle!
