With the Republican Party finally diverting campaign dollars to U.S. Senate hopeful Todd Akin, R-Wildwood, GOP members appear to be standing behind him in this final weekend before Tuesday's vote.

Akin and a fairly large crowd already is gathering at Victory Fieldhouse in Valley Park for the St. Louis portion of the Missouri GOP Bus Tour Stop.

For its part, Missouri's Republican party members consistently pledged they would work to help Akin defeat Democratic incumbent Claire McCaskill. Today, as the Missouri GOP’s slate of candidates kicked off a statewide bus tour, the party offered Akin full support.

The bus tour ran through Lee’s Summit, Joplin, Springfield and Jefferson City on Thursday. It planned to stop at St. Joseph, Kirksville and St. Louis today.

In my opinion, it is an embarrassment that Republicans are now supporting Todd Akin. By analyzing his idiotic comments concerning "legitimate rape", it is clear he thinks that if a woman becomes pregnant, then she obviously wasn't raped. That is not a "six second mistake", as he is now spinning his gaff in commercials, it is his mindset. I cannot believe anyone especially a woman, Republican or not, would ever vote for a man who thinks like that.
He likened a sitting United States Senator to a dog...how classy for a man who wants the position himself! I really enjoyed his observation that Claire McCaskill wasn't very "ladylike" while debating. Really? Only a man who thinks of women in the way Akin does would make a comment like that.
Republicans may not agree with every vote Claire McCaskill makes or with every item in her belief system. But it doesn't mean you lower your standards so low that you cast a vote for Todd Akin. It doesn't mean you should lower the U.S. Senate by giving him a membership either. A vote for Akin does both.

At least he doesn't support the mass genocide of unborn children in this country.

I support Todd Akin. I am not going to let one misspoken statement wash away years of a record that has been about defending life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Now I will turn your statement back to you: I don't know how Democrats can support Senator Obama and now President Obama after he could passionately argued, as a IL State Senator, against giving medical treatment to a baby that survived an abortion! That alone should make one question a man's character.

And now with all that has come out with the 9/11 attack in Libya. Our POTUS went to BED without convening the Counterterrorism Security Group, (CSG). http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-250_162-57544026/sources-key-task-force-not-convened-during-benghazi-consulate-attack/
"a hostage rescue team was alternately asked to get ready and then stand down throughout the night, as officials seemed unable to make up their minds".

No forces were sent to rescue AMERICANS being attacked on AMERICAN SOIL.

AND where has Senator McCaskill been amidst all this controversy? No where near protecting American Lives.

Not surprised

Spare us the fake concerns over the unborn. Your cult must be really desparate. Akin favors puppy torture. Actually he doesn't. Politicians don't control these puppy torture rules or whether abortions occur. They just use you fools so they can get power.

Any women in Missouri that would vote for this man is a disgrace of all women that worked so hard to become equal to men in this country. You should be ashamed of your self. You should be voting for your daughters, grandaughters, nieces, Before you vote on Tuesday think do we really want another man telling women what they should and should not do? It's so sad.
